The Kooples Final Project

In this Final project, I've using all the skills and knowledge to create a business plan. From market research, the brand history, marketing and competitor analysis to launch a new product line for The Kooples. I found it was really interesting and helpful to use all the skills into an actual plan.

Although The Kooples has limited information and resources as it was a new brand. I still work really hard to figured out all the results and was happy about it. The time is a bit short to make such a huge plan, including 30 secs ad campaign and blogs. I hope this project can help me to discover a new sight and open a different chance to work in a real industry.

Music or Clothes? The Kooples Records

In 2011, the brand decided to create a record label, soberly entitled ‘The Kooples Records‘. In six months, The Kooples Records has recruited two bands: lo Echo and Lucky Soul. Their strategy? To have a stronger image: brands / labels become a lifestyle, you are what you wear and what you listen.

The kooples Collaboration × Peter Doherty 2012

The Kooples launched their collaboration with Peter Doherty March 2012. Although the brand already showed more than nod it the direction of Pete Doherty’s style previous to the collaboration, it looks like what you would expect. Classic 60′s inspired styling, slim fitting 3-piece suits, braces, the odd Trilby, and a canvas parka.

The Kooples beautiful & real couples ADs  2011

Instead of TV Commercial or a lot of media using for marketing promotion, The Kooples in F/W 2011 campaign with a series of visuals marking harmonious relationships. A host of garments that draw inspiration from military elegance, London’s Savile Row, combined with a rock star flare are showcased amidst tales of devotion and affection. The collection pushes the heterogeneous boundaries of fashion and by presenting all things of perishable beauty while embodying the urgency to live the present moment.

The Kooples is all about when it comes to their ad campaigns. Each image features an attractive couple, whether they be friends or lovers, the ads highlight people with a real story. To get an intimate look at The Kooples couples, hop over to their website where you can watch footage and learn more about each pair. The brand’s filled with chic Parisian style, which encompasses uni-sexual staples and stylish, but dressy basics.

Coupled up in The Kooples

The philosophy behind the brand is that couples frequently borrow each other's clothes: so there is a men's and a women's collection that are supposed to appear interchangeable. And since it's usually the women who steal their boyfriends' shirts, blazers or accessories, it's not surprising that the majority of the collection is slightly more masculine and androgynous than girly.

The clothes were 'UNISEX', there are two distinct collections for men and women which are meant to complement each other. The store and merchandize is also based on a 'his & hers' collection. The designers purport to create classics with a cool twist, but the result is an unimpressive range of separates, trimmed with token skull details in an attempt to give them an avant-garde edge.
